Share a note with others

A note can start with one sentence and grow into a clear shared document. OurNestia combines notebooks, formatted documents and checklists. Use H1, H2 and H3 headings to organise the text, and formatting shortcuts to keep writing without losing your place.

What can you use it for?

Keep practical information readable: one main heading for a weekend away, smaller headings for the journey and the stay, then a checklist for packing. Links and images can sit alongside the text. Automatic saving helps you return to the same document when a detail changes.

A simple way to get started

1. Create a notebook with a name and icon you both recognise, then add a document.

2. Use the formatting controls and shortcuts for H1, H2, H3, lists and checklists.

3. Share the note with others through the sharing options in the app; review who receives access.

An everyday example

Preparing for a visit? Write the arrival details under a heading, add a useful link and make a checklist for what to bring. Share that note with the people who need the information. Sharing one note does not mean inviting someone to every part of your Space.

A place in your shared Space

Notes in your Space belong to the members who have access. Sharing a note is a separate action from family calendar access or a quiz invitation. Use the available sharing controls deliberately; do not assume the note is a private vault within a shared Space.

H1, H2 and H3

Give a document structure with three heading levels. Use formatting controls and shortcuts to change text styles as you write.

Select and format text

Select text and use bold, italic or highlight. Formatting applies to your selection or the text you type next.

Undo and redo

Use the toolbar arrows to undo or redo an edit.

Insert text blocks

Use Insert to add a paragraph, information block or divider to structure a long note.

Lists and checkboxes

Choose bullet, numbered or task lists through Insert. Task lists provide items you can tick off.

Use tables

Insert a table through Insert. When your cursor is in a table, options appear to add or remove rows and columns.

Insert photos

Use Add photo to choose an image. Select an inserted image to change its size, alignment and available image settings.

Start with a template

Document templates are under More. Review your choice before applying a template to your notebook.

Name, icon and removal

Open notebook settings to change its name and icon. Removal has a separate confirmation; read it before removing a notebook.

Share a note

Share a note with others through the sharing options in the app. Review who gets access. Sharing a note is separate from family calendar access or a quiz invitation.

Automatic saving

Your document is saved as you write. The save status shows whether a change is saving, waiting locally or needs attention.

Keep writing offline

After an earlier online start, supported note changes can be kept locally and synced later. New uploads and external features need internet.

Images in the right place

Add supported JPG, PNG and WebP images. Use the image controls for size, alignment, captions and removal.

Room to write

On supported wide screens, choose a normal or wide document layout. Useful when working with larger tables or images.

Shared notes

Good to know.

Can I use headings and checklists in a note?

Yes. Documents support H1, H2 and H3 headings, formatting shortcuts, lists and checklists, as well as links and images.

Can I share a note with someone else?

Yes. Use the note-sharing options in the app and check the access you are giving. This is separate from inviting a partner, a family calendar viewer or a quiz friend.

Do family viewers automatically see our notes?

No. Family access is a limited calendar role. It does not automatically share your notebooks.

More for the two of you.
